A Guide to Cleaning and Maintaining Your Sex Doll
When it comes to owning a sex doll, proper cleaning and maintenance are essential for both hygiene and longevity. Whether you have a TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) or silicone doll, understanding the differences in cleaning methods is crucial. In this guide, we’ll explore the best practices for keeping your sex doll clean and in excellent condition.
First and foremost, it’s important to note that regular cleaning is necessary to prevent the buildup of bacteria, dirt, and odors on your sex doll’s skin. Depending on the frequency of use, cleaning your doll after every use or at least once a week is recommended. This will ensure that your doll remains safe and hygienic for continued use.
If you have a TPE doll, the cleaning process is slightly different compared to silicone dolls. TPE is a porous material, which means it can absorb fluids and bacteria if not properly cleaned. On the other hand, if you own a silicone doll, the cleaning process is more straightforward. Silicone is a non-porous material, which means it is less likely to absorb fluids or bacteria. Silicone dolls are generally more resistant to staining and odor retention, but it’s still important to clean them regularly to maintain their overall cleanliness and appearance.
In addition to regular cleaning, it’s also crucial to pay attention to the maintenance of your sex doll. This includes proper storage, handling, and care. When not in use, storing your doll in a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight or extreme temperatures is recommended. Avoid placing any heavy objects on top of the doll as it can cause deformations or damage. If your doll has removable parts such as a head or limbs, make sure to store them separately to prevent any unnecessary pressure or bending.
Furthermore, it’s important to handle your sex doll with care to avoid any accidental tears or damage. Avoid sharp objects or rough surfaces that can cause scratches or cuts. When dressing or undressing your doll, be gentle and take your time to avoid any unnecessary strain on the doll.
Lastly, regular maintenance also includes applying a suitable moisturizer or powder to your doll’s skin to keep it soft and prevent drying or cracking. There are specialized products available for both TPE and silicone dolls that can help maintain the doll’s skin texture and elasticity.
By following these cleaning and maintenance practices, you can ensure that your sex doll remains in excellent condition for years to come. Remember to always refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for specific instructions and recommendations on cleaning and caring for your particular doll model.
Furthermore, regular cleaning of your sex doll can also contribute to your overall sexual health and well-being. When you engage in intimate activities with your doll bodily fluids and lubricants can come into contact with its surface. If not properly cleaned, these fluids can create a breeding ground for bacteria and other pathogens. Moreover, regular cleaning can help preserve the aesthetic appeal of your sex doll. Over time, dust, dirt, and oils can accumulate on the doll’s skin, potentially causing discoloration or staining. By implementing a cleaning routine, you can keep your doll looking fresh and vibrant, enhancing your overall experience.
Overall, regular cleaning, maintenance, and proper storage are essential aspects of owning a sex doll to ensure a hygienic and safe experience while maintaining the doll’s quality and longevity. Follow our guide to enjoy your sex doll to the fullest and make the most out of your investment.
Cleaning a TPE Sex Doll
TPE is a popular material used for sex dolls due to its soft and realistic feel. However, TPE requires specific cleaning methods to maintain its quality and lengthen its lifespan. Taking proper care of your TPE sex doll not only ensures its longevity but also keeps it hygienic for your continued enjoyment.
Your cleaning kit should include:
- Spray bottle
- Microfiber towel
- Cornstarch or baby powder
- Thick makeup brush
- Soft sponge
- Baby oil or mineral oil
- Nivea creme
- Vaseline or petroleum jelly
The First Few Days Home
The first day home of your TPE sex doll is the most important.
- Wash the doll thoroughly 5 to 6 times to remove any production material residues.
- Apply a mineral oil treatment and let it absorb.
- Apply baby powder or cornstarch powder on the entire sex doll.
- Let the doll rest for the night.
- On day 2 repeat steps 1 through 4.
How to Wash Your Sex Doll
- Place your sex doll horizontally on a flat surface
- Fill your spray bottle with a mixture of 1 part hand soap/shower gel and 5 parts water.
- Spray the front half doll of your sex and wipe using a soft sponge.
- Repeat for the back half of the doll.
- Dry the entire sex doll using a microfiber towel.
- To remove dirt stains rub baby oil repeatedly in the same direction pushing the dirt to the surface and wipe. Repeat until area is clean.
- Using your hands or a large makeup brush rub baby powder or cornstarch over the entire doll. (we recommend dispensing powder into a small container and then using the makeup brush to apply all over the parts you just cleaned.) *If oiling your doll make sure to do it after washing and drying it, let the doll absorb the oil and then powder. Do not oil your doll on top of a coat of powder. Only apply oil to clean washed surfaces. *We highly discourage soaking your sex doll in the bathtub because of factory recommendations.
Weekly Maintenance:
To maintain the durability and elasticity of the TPE material it’s recommended to apply Nivea cream to specific areas weekly as the mineral oil in the cream helps keep the TPE soft and supple, preventing any potential tears or damage that may occur if the material dries out.
Make sure to use Nivea cream and Vaseline weekly to moisturize all of joints, folds and crevices as well (armpits, elbows, knees, ankles, wrists, skin folds of the thighs, all orifices, etc). Allow the cream and oil to be absorbed for approximately 6 hours for optimal effect. For added protection, consider applying Nivea cream before each use of the orifices.
*Kindly be aware that products such as Vaseline, Nivea cream, and baby oil can remove the original makeup from the doll’s face, breasts, and vagina, as well as any self-applied makeup. To preserve the doll’s original makeup and body paint, exercise caution and avoid applying or rubbing these products in those specific areas.
Monthly Maintenance:
We recommend hydrating the sex doll’s entire body with baby oil once every month. Make sure to thoroughly wash off all powder residue and letting the doll dry before oiling. Just apply baby oil to the front half of the body, allow approximately 2 hours for absorption, then gently flip the sex doll over and repeat the process. For areas prone to high stress, such as the armpits, crotch, and vagina, Vaseline can provide added protection, although it may take about 12 hours to fully absorb.
Both Vaseline and Nivea cream have higher mineral oil content compared to baby oil, making them more suitable for targeted hydration.
To address sticky or dark spots resulting from dust or dirt (excluding stains from unwashed clothing pigments), simply apply baby oil to a Q-tip or small towel and gently wipe the affected area until it is removed.
Note: Many individuals inadvertently stain their dolls with brand new clothing. To prevent this handwash new clothing in a sink, changing the water until it runs clear.
The Love Holes:
It is recommended to only use water-based lubricants, never silicone-based. But it is also perfectly safe to use Vaseline or baby oil as alternatives.
If Your Doll Features A Vagina Insert, Here Are Some Helpful Tips:
- Apply baby oil or Vaseline to lubricate the insert and around the doll’s opening.
- With one hand, insert a couple of fingers into the insert, while using the other hand to open up the doll’s hole by lifting.
- Align everything properly, then push the vaginal insert inside the doll’s opening.
- Check to make sure the vaginal insert is lodged in the cavity and ready for use.
- After each use clean the vaginal insert thoroughly and insert a tampon into the hole to absorb any fluids.
- Let the insert dry.
If Your Doll Features a Built-in Vagina, Here Are Some Helpful Tips:
Cleaning a doll with a built-in vagina requires extra care, but with the right tools, it’s manageable. Here’s how to clean, dry and disinfect your doll after each use:
- After intercourse, insert two tampons (stacked) into the vagina or anus to absorb the sperm-lube mixture. Only use one tampon for the mouth.
- Leave the tampons in for 30 minutes to ensure thorough absorption.
- After removing the first tampons, insert new tampons sprayed with 3% hydrogen peroxide.
- Let the Hydrogen peroxide tampons act for 30 minutes.
- Remove and let air dry
- Do not use alcohol, toy cleaners, disinfectant sprays
By following these simple maintenance steps, you can ensure your doll remains a long-lasting product.
Blacklist of Harmful Products:
- Alcohol – Alcohol causes micro-cuts (irreparable) and induces a drying effect (resulting in porous, cracked, and brittle texture) within the TPE structure. Do not use any products containing alcohol such as rubbing alcohol, baby wipes, disinfecting wipes, alcohol sprays, perfume, cologne, and soaps, toy cleaners, etc.
- Solvents – solvents including mineral spirits, odorless mineral spirits, paint thinner, nitro-thinner, and products containing solvents like alcohol-free baby wipes have detrimental effects on TPE material initiating a dissolving process within the TPE structure, breaking down the block-copolymers and causing significant harm to the integrity of the TPE. It is imperative to only use official repair solvents specifically designed for TPE dolls and their various TPE blends, as provided by the vendors. These repair solvents should be utilized in accordance with the repair manuals/videos and recommendations from the vendors and manufacturers.
- Vegetable Oil – products containing vegetable oil, such as creams, soaps, and shower gels infused with coconut oil or fruity oils, have a significant impact on TPE surfaces. These oils create a seal over the TPE, inhibiting its ability to breathe properly.
- Silicone Oil – Items such as lubricated condoms (which may contain dimethicone) and silicone-based lubricants have an adverse effect on TPE. Silicone oil alters the structure of TPE, causing it to become harder, cracked, and brittle. Additionally, it may lead to a shrinking.
Cleaning a Silicone Sex Doll
The process of cleaning a silicone sex doll closely resembles that of cleaning a TPE doll. The main difference lies in the material’s porosity: TPE tends to retain dirt and oils more readily, leading to faster skin degradation. Nevertheless, it’s still recommended to bathe your silicone doll every 2-4 weeks to maintain cleanliness and hygiene.
